Designed as an interactive wall poster targeting younger audiences. The goal of the poster is to cause the viewer to think about the possibilities of space travel and exploration. I achieved this by adhering a vinyl print overtop of a mirror to get a face-in-hole type interaction with the largest suit's visor.
A copy was featured in the Finlandia University Art Gallery's 2014 Juried Exhibition and won 2nd Place in the 2D Art category.
This is a personal concept exercise imagining a possible future configuration of off-road vehicle. It is all-electric, eliminating the need for bulky transmissions and axels, freeing up each wheel to be driven by individual motors and utilizing all-wheel steering for better stability and tighter turns.
Flight Line Nose Art
This series represents the visual component of my undergraduate thesis which explores the role and effects of pin-ups as nose art on aircraft throughout history.
Excitingly enough, I had the opportunity to work with the Yankee Air Museum in Willow Run, MI on this project! I pitched them my idea, they gave me the raw aluminum, I fabricated/painted the panels, and after my graduation exhibition both 'Snapshot' and 'No Strings Attached' were given to the museum then auctioned off to help save the Willow Run Bomber Plant.
Media: Aluminum primed with zinc chromate, airbrushed with enamel paints.
Flight Line Bravo Nose Art
Flight Line Bravo is my second series of aircraft nose art. Featuring fan art pin-ups from popular video games it is a short run of 20 small-scale aluminum aircraft hulls built to serve as flagship pieces for my entrance into the entertainment convention business.
Set to Stun - The interstellar bounty hunter Samus Aran from the Metroid series.
Hard Light - Featuring Cortana, a super intelligent artificial intelligence from the Halo series.
Pretty in Ink - Is the vibrant colored ink rolling Inkling Girl from Splatoon. Stay fresh.
Miss Midnight - The adorable and spunky Princess of Twilight, Midna, from the Legend of Zelda series.
Nobody's Perfect - Features the genetically perfect, top Cerberus operative, Miranda Lawson from the Mass Effect series.
Déjà Vu - Is the time traveling royal princess from the future, Lucina from the Fire Emblem series.
All hulls were constructed from the ground up entirely from aluminum, measuring 11" x 8.5" with a custom fold-out stand. Aircraft grade Zinc Phosphate was used as a primer (still visible on the backside), Montana Gold Acrylic paint for the face. Pinups were pencil sketched, painted digitally in Photoshop, then printed and cut out from automotive-grade vinyl wrap.
This logo was designed for an exciting new Michigan air museum in late 2016. Due to the museum's unique offering (all aircraft are fully restored and flown regularly by members) the design emphasizes a connection to historic military iconography while maintaining a sharp contemporary aesthetic.
White Nova Posters
A self-directed series inspired by two of my oldest/ best friends and a video game that has given us so many great memories for the past 14+ years.
The game has you choose a character from a large cadre of unique and quirky "Commanders" who then determine the characteristics of your army. This is the mechanic in which I chose to inject our likenesses, and together we form "White Nova" army.
Advance Wars is owned and produced by Intelligent Systems Co.
Wacom Tablet Spec Ad
This is an advertisement mockup done for Wacom's Intuos Pro artist tablets. The dimly lit photograph and subtle messaging speaks familiarly to the product's target audience: The late night studio-bound artists locked in a state of creativity, illuminated only by their computer screens and faint glow of their interfaces. This is not a mass market advertisement simply because this is not a mass market product. The Intuos Pro graphics tablet is a tool for the professional artist.
In addition to the design I also photographed and processed the product myself.
In the near future, a girl and her parents make the decision to move to a newly terraformed Mars.
This project entailed conveying a simple story arc within 10 frames without the use of text.
Star Wars Vehicle Concept
For this project I was tasked with bringing to life a vehicle described within a book.
Described as being smaller and lighter than an average Star Destroyer, the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer featured four bulbous generators that could manipulate gravity to pull ships from hyperspace. In addition to being equipped with a host of defensive gun batteries the ship also needed to be capable of housing two full squadrons (24) of TIE fighters.
Featured in the book Star Wars: Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn.
